Book Review: Teeth in the Mist

  Hi everyone,

I recently finished Teeth in the Mist by Dawn Kurtagich . I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is about here before heading into my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my TikTok @brinadancer to see all the books I'm reading this month. I'd love to know what you are reading this month let me know either here in the comments or on my video.

Hopping on into the review.  I literally just chose this one on a whim. I was looking through the shelves at the library and was like this looks interesting. So I checked it out just to see what this one was all about.

This book is written in different points of view with flashbacks to different time periods. Also, this is written in British English which I didn't realize when I picked it up. I'm not one that's too big on different points of view but for this story, I think it works since we have Zoey, Roan, and Hermonie. It really helps to connect the whole plot together and keep things interesting. I did like the story since it was based on witchcraft, everyone knows I love a good witch book. This also reads really similar to A Haunting of Hill House. I really had that creepy vibe and there were definitely points that I didn't want to put it down cause I wanted to know what was going to happen to the characters. There were some things I didn't like though like how long the end really is I feel like that goes with any horror-written book/movie that you can never really get rid of the evil entirely without something bad happening. I let you read it to find out.

I would recommend this book. It is definitely a good fall October read or just horror read in general since it is so creepy. I also really liked that it had witchcraft in it that is always a plus. I'd love to know if you have any good horror book recommendations. Also if you have read this book let me know your comments below.

Lastly, if you're looking for other books I have reviews up for Arc of A Scythe Trilogy up, Marked, and the Lost Heroes of Olympus series: The Lost HeroSon of Neptune and Mark of Athena. And  A Storm of Magic and many more throughout my blog.

Thanks for reading,  please don’t forget to like, comment, and follow for more of my posts.

Book review: Crush

 Hi everyone,

I recently finished Crush by Tracy Wolff. I gave this book 4.5 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is abouhere before heading into my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my TikTok @brinadancer to see all the books I'm reading this month. I'd love to know what your reading this month let me know either here in the comments or on my video.

Hopping on into the review.  I was so excited to start this one. Especially after Crave, I was in love with this series. This one was pretty good I still enjoyed it but I thought it was a little long and I had to take breaks when reading this one. Make sure you've read the book before reading any further.

This one picks up where Crave left off. Grace is totally stuck in stone and is just now being brought back months later with Hudson. Whooo boy Hudson is swoon-worthy for sure. I really like the way this started out with Grace not remembering what happened. But even by the end of Crush she still doesn't remember what happened between her and Hudson in the time they were trapped together.

I did like that we get to see what Ludaires tournament is like though which is pretty awesome. We also get to see that Grace is learning to use her powers as a gargoyle. I almost wish it would have been so long though like this one dragged a little through many parts. I also like that there were several different "quests" Grace, Jaxon, and the whole group goes on that was very interesting. Again I think it could have been a little shorter though since this was a hefty book at over 600 pages.

Now the icing on the cake was definitely the last 100 pages or so. OMG, it was crazy what went down between grace and Jaxon and Hudsens dad and Grace and Hudson. Since Grace decided to compete for a real spot on the Circle Cyrus Jaxons and Hudson's father made it so hard on her and he causes Jaxons and her mating bond to break. But that totally fine cause finally at the end we see that Hudson has a bond with her too. EEKKK totally great.

I would recommend this book. I really enjoyed it for the most part it was pretty long though I wish it would have been a bit shorter. If you have read this book let me know your comments below.

Lastly, if you're looking for other books I have reviews up for Arc of A Scythe Trilogy up, Marked, and the Lost Heroes of Olympus series: The Lost HeroSon of Neptune and Mark of Athena. And  A Storm of Magic and many more throughout my blog.

Book Review: A Storm of Light and Darkness

     Hi everyone,

I recently finished A Storm of Light and Darkness by Marion Blackwood. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is abouhere before heading into my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my TikTok @brinadancer to see some more bookish things. I also have up a book haul of books I've recently gotten over there as well. Before we get in the review, I received an ARC of this book from the author. So huge thank you to Marion Blackwood for sending me this book.

Hopping on into the review. Before reading this make sure you've read the other books in the series. I'd hate to spoil anything for you, since this the final in the series!  I was so excited to see how Storm was going to do in the war to come.

I loved that this one jumped right into the war no waiting around. We head straight to ballet within the first few chapters. This was a real nail bitter though at every turn Storm and her gathered army full of friends had such a difficult time. I was so glad when final Queen Nimlithil finally died she was so impossible to get to and kill. Storm tried at least 3 different times and finally, they got her.

I really liked that all the characters from all the books were back together for this final novel and that magic was brought back by the end. Plus we threw in 3 new totally surprise dragons besides Aldeor for the City of Glass.

Also, we had a little sneaky love scene between Shade and Storm always a fan of that they are such a good couple.

Overall I would recommend this book especially if you're a fan of the series you have to read the on the get to the epic conclusion.  Plus this one is really getting us set up for the final book in the series and the war to come with that. This also a fairly easy read so it's good to pick up and read almost all at once. I want to again say thank you to Marion Blackwood for sending me this book. It was great and I can't wait for the next one A Storm of Light and Darkness.

Lastly, if your looking for other books I have reviews up for the other books in Marion;s series.  A Storm of Silver and Ash , A Storm of Shadows and Pearls , A Storm of Smoke and Flame,  A Storm of Glass and Stars, and A Storm of Mist and Thunder. Plus all these other great reviews for Arc of A Scythe Trilogy up, Marked, and the Lost Heroes of Olympus series: The Lost HeroSon of Neptune and Mark of Athena. And  A Storm of Magic and many more through out my blog.

Thanks for reading,  please don’t forget to like, comment, and follow for more of my posts.

Book Review: Crave

Hi everyone,

I recently finished Crave by Tracy Wolff. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is abouhere before heading into my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my TikTok @brinadancer to see all the books I'm reading this month. I'd love to know what your reading this month let me know either here in the comments or on my video.

Hopping on into the review.  Where to start with this one. OMG it was amazing. I absolutely loved it.
It's been quite a while since I got a book that I thought was this good to the point that I didn't want to put it down. If you've been reading my reviews for a while you know I am a sucker for a good vampire book. This one did not disappoint. It really reminded me of twilight but with the show Legacies spin. I loved twilight, hate all you want lol.

Looking at the characters, Grace is just a pretty average kind of girl till much later in the book. I love Macy, she's such a cute character, and the fact that she loves everything hot pink and colorful is just fabulous. And finally on to Jaxon Vega. Holy crapy yes that is what I want in a vampire. He is great and a  total badass that keeps you wanting more.

The actual storyline super great I loved that the setting is in a castle for a school way up in Alaska. I also like that we keep one point of view till the end when we get Jaxons but these are all clearly labeled switches.  I  loved that we have all magical creatures at this school everything from witches to dragons. I think this really helps to keep it interesting and that all the factions are more like high school cliques and they don't mix... reminds me a little of Mean Girls and the sitting chart. Lastly, the way the "bad guy" is woven in is pretty good too I loved who it turned out to be.

I totally recommend this book. I literally didn't even finish the first one till I bought the next 2 in the series with the fourth one coming out later this year. I loved it.

Book Review: Ember

   Hi everyone,

I recently finished Ember by Jessical Samuels. I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is about here before heading into my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my TikTok @brinadancer to see all the books I'm reading this month. I'd love to know what your reading this month let me know either here in the comments or on my video.

Hopping on into the review.  I actually received this book for review from the author and from Booktasters over on Twitter. So huge thank you to both of them for sending me this book for review.

I didn't really know anything about this book before picking it up and getting started on it. Number One: I loved that it was super short, it made it very easy to get through. So if your looking for a quick book to just plow through in a few days or don't have a lot of time to read this one is perfect. I will say I really liked that it was super fast and there was no downtime between scenes in the book it was almost like it was written more in a screenplay fashion rather than a book per se. Also, the language is a little basic I wish there would have been more variation in the writing style but that's just me. I like a good mix of words when reading a story.

On to the actual story and not the mechanics. I think this was a super cool concept of Angle witches. It was definitely an interesting make-up like a crossbreed between angles and witches. We could have had way more of the lore on this. I enjoyed the nod to the bad witches  coven being called a "Poison Apple." We also get a lot of the supernatural thrown into the mix I'm not the biggest fan of shifters but I think the idea for more than just werewolves is a pretty good concept. I think I would have rather had a different type of shifter than a spider though a little creepy.

Over all I would recommend this one since it is so fast and really just want a book for fun. I think this one would be a perfect fit.

Lastly, if you're looking for other books I have reviews up for Arc of A Scythe Trilogy up, Marked, and the Lost Heroes of Olympus series: The Lost HeroSon of Neptune and Mark of Athena. And  A Storm of Magic and many more throughout my blog.

Book Review: The Winner's Curse

    Hi everyone,

I recently finished The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski. I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is abouhere before heading into my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my TikTok @brinadancer to see all the books I'm reading this month. I'd love to know what your reading this month let me know either here in the comments or on my video.

Hopping on into the review.  I picked this one up because had finished watching Bridgerton and I wanted a book that had those kinda vibes but with a little more action. I love Bridgerton but I'm not sure how well that would translate to a book since I'm not the biggest fan of romance books. I did like the way this one started out it was a really good setup. I also love Kestrel and Arin. I almost wish they had a little bit more going on between them. At least in this book Kestrel really struggles internally with trying to make up her mind about Arin. Also, side note I want a game of bite and sting now. It sounded super fun and interesting.

I will say the first part of this book is great. I was really into it but then in the middle, I got a little bored and wanted things to go a little faster. I like things to move pretty quickly,  now the last 40 pages or so picked back up the pace which I like and it made me want to read the next books to see what happens between Kestrel and Arin.

Overall I would recommend this book I think it's worth a read especially if you like a period fantasy with light romance with action.

Lastly, if your looking for other books I have reviews up for Arc of A Scythe Trilogy up, Marked, and the Lost Heroes of Olympus series: The Lost HeroSon of Neptune and Mark of Athena. And  A Storm of Magic and many more throughout my blog.
