Book Revew: Serpent & Dove

 Hi everyone,

I recently finished Serpent & Dove. I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is about here before heading into my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my TikTok @brinadancer to see all the books I'm reading this month. I'd love to know what you are reading this month let me know either here in the comments or on my video.

Hopping on into the review.  I had this one on my TBR for a while since I saw it on TikTok. Plus I love a good witch book.

Serpent and Dove was overall pretty good. I really like the character of Louise she is such a strong lead. Some of her lines literally made me laugh out loud. I really liked her wit and her backstory.

I enjoyed the magic system in this book it's pretty interesting since they have white witches and blood witches. The way they conjure their magic is different than other magic systems I read so far. They look for patterns and then their is always a price to each spell they do.

Moving on to the spice. There definitely is some spice I would give it a 2 on the spice scale. I definitely like the enemies to lovers aspect between Reed and Louise. I would have liked to have more but hope the next book will have more.

Lastly, I thought this was a little slow at points I wanted things to move a little faster than they did but I like fast-paced novels.

I would definitally recommend this book. It's definitely a good read and worth the hype from TikTok. Also if you have read this book, let me know your comments below.

Lastly, if you're looking for other books I have reviews up for Teeth in the Mist, Trials of Apollo, Crush, and many more throughout my blog.

Thanks for reading,  please don’t forget to like, comment, and follow for more of my posts.

Book Review: Crave

Hi everyone,

I recently finished Crave by Tracy Wolff. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is abouhere before heading into my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my TikTok @brinadancer to see all the books I'm reading this month. I'd love to know what your reading this month let me know either here in the comments or on my video.

Hopping on into the review.  Where to start with this one. OMG it was amazing. I absolutely loved it.
It's been quite a while since I got a book that I thought was this good to the point that I didn't want to put it down. If you've been reading my reviews for a while you know I am a sucker for a good vampire book. This one did not disappoint. It really reminded me of twilight but with the show Legacies spin. I loved twilight, hate all you want lol.

Looking at the characters, Grace is just a pretty average kind of girl till much later in the book. I love Macy, she's such a cute character, and the fact that she loves everything hot pink and colorful is just fabulous. And finally on to Jaxon Vega. Holy crapy yes that is what I want in a vampire. He is great and a  total badass that keeps you wanting more.

The actual storyline super great I loved that the setting is in a castle for a school way up in Alaska. I also like that we keep one point of view till the end when we get Jaxons but these are all clearly labeled switches.  I  loved that we have all magical creatures at this school everything from witches to dragons. I think this really helps to keep it interesting and that all the factions are more like high school cliques and they don't mix... reminds me a little of Mean Girls and the sitting chart. Lastly, the way the "bad guy" is woven in is pretty good too I loved who it turned out to be.

I totally recommend this book. I literally didn't even finish the first one till I bought the next 2 in the series with the fourth one coming out later this year. I loved it. If you have read this book let me know your comments below.

Lastly, if you're looking for other books I have reviews up for Arc of A Scythe Trilogy up, Marked, and the Lost Heroes of Olympus series: The Lost HeroSon of Neptune and Mark of Athena. And  A Storm of Magic and many more throughout my blog.

Book Review: Sweep Volume 1

   Hi everyone,

I recently finished Sweep volume 1 by Cate Tiernan. I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is abouhere before heading in to my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my TikTok @brinadancer to see all the books I'm reading this month. I'd love to know what your reading this month let me know either here in the comments or on my video.

Hopping on in to the review. I'll keep this as spoiler free since this is a bind up review of the first three books.  So I was super excited to get to this series I love witchy books. This one did not disappoint in that it was full of magic and mystery. I really liked that we got a little along as far as the mystery went. I did like that we have flash back between daughter and mother so that we can figure out how things came about. I also really love the magic parts in the all the books. Plus the love interest is definitely great and I believe that as this series goes on we get a little love triangle, can't wait to see if that's true.

One thing I didn't like is that some of the forwards at the beginning of the chapters didn't really say who was narrating which I think makes it a little hard to understand. I not big on multiple points of view to begin with but it makes it harder if it doesn't say which character is speaking.

Overall I would recommend this series so far. I definitely want to continue on with and get the next few books and see where they go. If you have read this book leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought.

Lastly, if your looking for other books I have reviews up for Arc of A Scythe Trilogy up, Marked, and the Lost Heroes of Olympus series: The Lost HeroSon of Neptune and Mark of Athena. And  A Storm of Magic and many more through out my blog.
