Book Review: A Storm of Blood and Swords

    Hi everyone,

I recently finished A Storm of Blood and Swords by Marion Blackwood. I gave this book 4.8 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is about here before heading in to my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my TikTok @brinadancer tosee some more bookish things. I also have up a book haul of books I've recently gotten over there as well. Before we get in the the review, I received an ARC of this book from the author. So huge thank you to Marion Blackwood to sending me this book.

Hopping on in to the review. Before reading this make sure you've read the other books in the series. I'd hate to spoil anything for you!  I was super stoked for this one since the last book left me wanting more. So this was definitely a classic Storm story and getting us really set up for the war to come in the next book. That being said I did feel like this one had a few down points but the last 50 or so pages things real heated up. At that point I didn't want to put it down though. I loved the way the plan was executed at the end and Apothecary Harber had come to Pernula. That was awesome! Storm being in charge now makes her even with Shade pretty much. Second thing I really enjoyed was the scene between Shade and Storm. Why did we have to wait till the end of the book thought. I stan for them! I love the tension and was so glad their finally getting together. Like we can have way more of Storm and Shade. Their just so good together. 

One thing I didn't like was that we really had a focus on Storm's powers in the previous novels and then for a good portion of this one Storm had no powers. I love Storms powers so I wanted to see here kick some major ass with them. 

Overall I would recommended this book specially if your fan of Shade and Storm. Plus this one is really getting us set up for the final book in the series and the war to come with that. This also a fairly easy read so it's good to pick up and read almost all at once. I want to again say thank you to Marion Blackwood for sending me this book. It was great and I can't wait for the next one A Storm of Light and Darkness.

Book Review: Sweep Volume 1

   Hi everyone,

I recently finished Sweep volume 1 by Cate Tiernan. I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. I'd love to know what your reading this month let me know either here in the comments or on my video. 

Hopping on in to the review. I'll keep this as spoiler free since this is a bind up review of the first three books.  So I was super excited to get to this series I love witchy books. This one did not disappoint in that it was full of magic and mystery. I really liked that we got a little along as far as the mystery went. I did like that we have flash back between daughter and mother so that we can figure out how things came about. I also really love the magic parts in the all the books. Plus the love interest is definitely great and I believe that as this series goes on we get a little love triangle, can't wait to see if that's true.

One thing I didn't like is that some of the forwards at the beginning of the chapters didn't really say who was narrating which I think makes it a little hard to understand. I not big on multiple points of view to begin with but it makes it harder if it doesn't say which character is speaking. 

Overall I would recommend this series so far. I definitely want to continue on with and get the next few books and see where they go. If you have read this book leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought.
