Book Review: A Storm of Light and Darkness

     Hi everyone,

I recently finished A Storm of Light and Darkness by Marion Blackwood. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is abouhere before heading into my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my TikTok @brinadancer to see some more bookish things. I also have up a book haul of books I've recently gotten over there as well. Before we get in the review, I received an ARC of this book from the author. So huge thank you to Marion Blackwood for sending me this book.

Hopping on into the review. Before reading this make sure you've read the other books in the series. I'd hate to spoil anything for you, since this the final in the series!  I was so excited to see how Storm was going to do in the war to come.

I loved that this one jumped right into the war no waiting around. We head straight to ballet within the first few chapters. This was a real nail bitter though at every turn Storm and her gathered army full of friends had such a difficult time. I was so glad when final Queen Nimlithil finally died she was so impossible to get to and kill. Storm tried at least 3 different times and finally, they got her.

I really liked that all the characters from all the books were back together for this final novel and that magic was brought back by the end. Plus we threw in 3 new totally surprise dragons besides Aldeor for the City of Glass.

Also, we had a little sneaky love scene between Shade and Storm always a fan of that they are such a good couple.

Overall I would recommend this book especially if you're a fan of the series you have to read the on the get to the epic conclusion.  Plus this one is really getting us set up for the final book in the series and the war to come with that. This also a fairly easy read so it's good to pick up and read almost all at once. I want to again say thank you to Marion Blackwood for sending me this book. It was great and I can't wait for the next one A Storm of Light and Darkness.

Lastly, if your looking for other books I have reviews up for the other books in Marion;s series.  A Storm of Silver and Ash , A Storm of Shadows and Pearls , A Storm of Smoke and Flame,  A Storm of Glass and Stars, and A Storm of Mist and Thunder. Plus all these other great reviews for Arc of A Scythe Trilogy up, Marked, and the Lost Heroes of Olympus series: The Lost HeroSon of Neptune and Mark of Athena. And  A Storm of Magic and many more through out my blog.

Book Review: A Storm of Blood and Swords

    Hi everyone,

I recently finished A Storm of Blood and Swords by Marion Blackwood. I gave this book 4.8 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is abouhere before heading in to my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my TikTok @brinadancer tosee some more bookish things. I also have up a book haul of books I've recently gotten over there as well. Before we get in the the review, I received an ARC of this book from the author. So huge thank you to Marion Blackwood to sending me this book.

Hopping on in to the review. Before reading this make sure you've read the other books in the series. I'd hate to spoil anything for you!  I was super stoked for this one since the last book left me wanting more. So this was definitely a classic Storm story and getting us really set up for the war to come in the next book. That being said I did feel like this one had a few down points but the last 50 or so pages things real heated up. At that point I didn't want to put it down though. I loved the way the plan was executed at the end and Apothecary Harber had come to Pernula. That was awesome! Storm being in charge now makes her even with Shade pretty much. Second thing I really enjoyed was the scene between Shade and Storm. Why did we have to wait till the end of the book thought. I stan for them! I love the tension and was so glad their finally getting together. Like we can have way more of Storm and Shade. Their just so good together.

One thing I didn't like was that we really had a focus on Storm's powers in the previous novels and then for a good portion of this one Storm had no powers. I love Storms powers so I wanted to see here kick some major ass with them.

Overall I would recommended this book specially if your fan of Shade and Storm.

Book Review: A Storm of Mist and Thunder

   Hi everyone,

I recently finished A Storm of Mist and Thunder by Marion Blackwood. I gave this book 4.9 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is abouhere before heading in to my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my December TBR 2020 and November wrap up on TikTok @brinadancer to see it and the other books I'm reading this month. I also have up a book haul of books I've recently gotten over there as well. I'd love to know what your reading this month let me know either here in the comments or on my video. Also, I received an ARC of this book from the author. So huge thank you to Marion Blackwood to sending me this book.

Hopping on in to the review. Before reading this make sure you've read the other books in the series. I'd hate to spoil anything for you!  I was super excited to get this one and start it. I love Storm as a character and couldn't wait to see where this one went since finally we were going to go see more about the storm casters. I really couldn't wait to see what they were all about. I will say that you really have to have read all the other books to really understand everything that is happening in this one.
Next if you have read my previous reviews you know I am a huge fan of having some Storm and Shade action. At the end of the last book I was like nah they have given up but the tension is like hit a boiling point and they are so ready for each other. I'm totally here for it, I love it! I hope that eventually they end up together but their tension is a great added touch.
Lastly I would love to have a map since now the world it literally huge and our character are all over the place and we've added a new city. I love though that the world is ever expanding and adding new challenges for Storm.

Overall I would recommended this book especially if you love Storm and read the other books so far. I really think that one we finally get to see more about Storms powers and learning to control them along with a good action packed story. This also a fairly easy read so it's good to pick up and read almost all at once. I want to again say thank you to Marion Blackwood for sending me this book. It was great and I can't wait for the next one A Storm of Blood and Swords.

Lastly, if your looking for other books I have reviews up for the other first book and second book in Marion;s series.  A Storm of Silver and Ash , A Storm of Shadows and Pearls , A Storm of Smoke and Flame, A Storm of A Storm of Glass and Stars

Lastly, if your looking for other books I have reviews up for Arc of A Scythe Trilogy up, Marked, and the Lost Heroes of Olympus series: The Lost HeroSon of Neptune and Mark of Athena. And  A Storm of Magic and many more through out my blog.

Book Review: A Storm of Glass and Stars

   Hi everyone,

I recently finished A Storm of Glass and Stars by Marion Blackwood. I gave this book 4.8 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is abouhere before heading in to my review.  Another bookish thing you can check out is my October TBR 2020 and September wrap up on TikTok @brinadancer to see it and the other books I'm reading this month.

I love Storm as a character and couldn't wait to see where this one went since we left off last time with them taking over Pernula. This one started out interesting though since Storm decided that she wanted to go explore on her own which ends up getting her in trouble like usual. By trouble I mean her, Shade and Elaran end up being taken by the star elves. I love the star elf aesthetic though all glass, white, having extravagant balls that kind of thing. Super on point. Totally not Storms thing this is where it really got good I would definitely say this one is a plot twist kind of thing going on. It really surprised me I won't say exactly what happens so you can read to find out but there were times I was saying to myself  "What the ****!! This can't be happening." Which is why I put 4.8 since my feels were all messed up. lol I'm really glad it all worked out in the end and that Storm and all her friends prevail. Also, I'm finally glad we get a little Storm and Shade action like come on the tension between these two is incredible. I really hope there is more of that in the next novel along with more about these mystical Storm Casters

Overall I would recommended this book especially if you love Storm and I totally think this one is better than the last one because of the blood elfs. This also a fairly easy read so it's good to pick up and read almost all at once. I want to again say thank you to Marion Blackwood for sending me this book. It was great and I can't wait for the next one

Lastly, if your looking for other books I have reviews up for the other first book and second book in Marion;s series.  A Storm of Silver and Ash , A Storm of Shadows and Pearls , A Storm of Smoke and Flame.

Book Review: A Storm of Shadows and Pearls

Hi everyone,
I recently finished A Storm of Shadows and Pearls by Marion Blackwood. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is about here before heading in to my review.  Make sure you go check out my April TBR, Quarantine Haul to see more books I'm reading. Also, I received an ARC of this book from the author. So huge thank you to Marion Blackwood to sending me this book.

Now hopping on in to the review this is as spoiler free as possible since this is the second book in her fantasy series. I absolutely loved this book. I think I even liked it better than the first one. It's super action packed from the first page. Our character Storm is really set up for a great story since we have some new comers come to Keutunan, the Pernulians. I also like how many side plots we have though this since there is a main conflict with the Pernulians and the side conflicts with Storm.
I also like that we get more of Storm and Shades power trips. I love Shade he's definitely a good balance to Storm and her craziness. I would definitely say that with out Shade Storm would be in more trouble; not that she doesn't get herself in to a whole bunch of trouble as it is. It's like every time we think Storm figures out what she needs to do its wrong.
Lastly another part which I will just lightly touch on is the fact that there is some magic in  Keutunan that King Edward releases. I won't say from where so you can read and find out. But I'm definitely intrigued to find out more about this magic and where it came from. Hopefully, we will get that in the next book.

Overall I would recommended this book especially since it so fast paced. You can read it pretty quickly and the characters are super fun. It also keeps you interested from page one since it's so action packed. I want to again say thank you to Marion Blackwood for sending me this book. It was great and I can't wait for the next one

Book Review: A Storm of Silver and Ash

Hi everyone,

I recently finished A storm of Silver and Ash by Marion Blackwood. I gave this book 4.8 out of 5 stars on Goodreads. You can see more about what this book is about here before heading in to my review.  Make sure you go check out my October TBR where I show this book and what else I'm reading this month. Also, I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. So huge thank you to Marion Blackwood to sending me this book. My review is also up on Goodreads

Now hopping on in to the review this is spoiler free. I really like how fast paced this book was, I really enjoyed that we were pretty much thrown right in to the action with our main character Storm. And Storm is a totally badass, she reminds me of  Cleina Sardothan from Throne of Glass or Androma Racella from Zenith. Which is totally a good thing, since I love this type of character. Although I would have like a bit more backstory about Storm a little bit sooner in the story instead of near the end that way I could have understood her feeling like a "on coming storm" a bit better besides that she is just a thief. I also really like Liam's character he is definitely like the little brother of the story. I also have to mention Shade. I really liked Shades character too since I never could tell which side he was playing. You'll defiantly have to read the book to figure out what I mean by that. Spoiler free remember. lol I also really enjoyed the elves,  they were more like the elves from Lord of the Rings. They were woodland based with a bit of magic. Super cool that the magic aspect was woven in nicely and not too overpowering with the elve characters.  I also liked how their society was completely different than the one Storm came from. Storm was very used the this society where there was a true class system where there was a major different between the upper and lower. I liked that in her society that the lower class was separated in the guilds and that each guild had a place and respect for each other. Very cool.

Moving on from characters and story in to the setting I liked the world building overall. I would have love to have a map though just so that we can see the world I little better. Especially the city and how its laid out in districts. I just think that would have made a cool addition

Lastly writing style. I love the language used in this it was very modern for more of a classic fantasy themed story. I defiantly found some of the lines that character's would say to be pretty funny. Like " Join  the army, they said. It'll be an easy job, they said."

Overall I would recommended this book especially if you like fantasy and characters that fit in the the Throne of Glass type genera. I personally love that kind of story and I really enjoyed this book. I would have like to have a few things add to the story has a whole but it was A+ for a debut novel.
