Book Review: Cinder

I recently read Cinder by Marissa Meyer the first book in the Lunar Chronicles. This was a re-read for me. I think I enjoyed this book a second time more than the first. The reason I re-read this was because I got Winter the last in the series and needed a refresher since I read the first and second books over a year or more ago.
Please don't read below there are spoilers if you haven't already read the book!
I gave Cinder 4 out of 5 stars on GoodReads.
This is the GoodReads Synopsis:
"Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future."

First off I really liked this book and I liked that it was a fairy tale retailing. I think these are becoming more popular for the YA audience since we all know the classics.

I felt like the character of Cinder was great; I really like the twist that she is a cyborg and a mechanic from the classic fairy tale. I also really like Iko, the android, she was so sweet with her broken personality chip.

I did like the story part and how this takes place in "New Beijing." I didn't like that this first part of the story is a little slow and I also didn't like that we didn't get farther with the story than just going to the ball. I do get that their are other books but I wanted more before we add more main characters.

I do recommend that you give this book a read and the series. I'm on Scarlet now, for the second time; I like it a whole lot better this time so far. There will be a book review for that soon.
