Book Review: The Lunar Chronicles: Cress

I recently read Cress by Marissa Meyer the third book in the Lunar ChroniclesPlease don't read below there are spoilers if you haven't already read the book or the others in the series!
I gave Cress 3 out of 5 stars on GoodReads.
This is the GoodReads Synopsis:
"Even in the future. there are damsels in distress...

In the third installment of the Lunar chronicles, Cress, having risked everything to warn Cinder of Queen Levana's evil plan, has a slight problem. She's been imprisoned on a satellite since childhood and has only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress a great hacker. Unfortunately, she's just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.
When a daring rescue of Cress involving Cinder, Captain Thorne, Scarlet, and Wolf goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes as a high price. Meanwhile, Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has."

First, I really loved the character of Cress. She is a girl like me; I love computers and computer hacking it's awesome. I think she makes a great addition to the team as well since that's basically what's going on my now. It's getting a little crowed on that space ship since we add Scarlet and Wolf. Spoiler and Iko as a new escourt android. I was so glad she got a body that matched her personality finally.

Secondly, OMG the desert. Did we have to stay so long in the desert? I got board because so much of this took place in the desert. Cress and Throne walked forever before they finally reached some other people and civilization. I didn't like this at all. I had to stop reading it for a week because it was so bad.

Third, I did like the "kidnap Kai plan " which was about the last 150 pages...I'm telling you this was a LONG book. This part was pretty intense. So I'm glad I pushed through and made it to the end since this was the best part.

I do recommend that you give this book a read and the series, if you want to continue on with the characters and the story. Even though I didn't like the majority of the book I liked the end enough that it made up for it. The next in the series is Winter there will be a book review for that soon. Be on the look out for it.

Spring Favorites 2016 Tag

Hi lovelys,
Today I thought I tell you my Spring favorites before the season turns to Summer. I got these questions from Ingrid Nilsen, she posted a video that you can go check out on Youtube. While your there make sure to check out my channel. I trying to get in to making videos every week. Hopefully with the summer coming up I'll be able to.
Now on to my Spring Favorites.
1. Favorite spring nail polish?
For nail polish I have really been loving the pastel colors and glitter polishes. The two pastel
pictured above are from Pure Ice and Cover Girl. The glitter is from Pure Ice.
2. What is your must-have lip color this spring?
I have been using NYX's lip creams in........ and I have this light pink shimmery shade from Bath & Body that unfortunately they don't make any more.
3. Show us your favorite spring dress!
For my favorite dress I love this yellow one. I got it last fall when spring clothes were on sale from the Spring/Summer. I still think this is super cute for this season and I enjoy wearing it so much. It goes really well with a jacket since spring is cold where I live.
4. What's your favorite flower?
I think for spring my favorite flower is a Butter Cup. I went and took pictures this past weekend and there was a yard that was full of them. They were so pretty and made for a great background for pictures. Look for those pictures to be uploaded soon and check out my Instagram for a sneak peak.
5. Favorite spring scarf/accessory?
I really have been loving all different kinds of headbands for this season, like every time I go to get ready and fix my hair I find myself wanting a headband. The ones pictured above are from Francesca's , Charlotte Ruse, and Walmart.
6. What spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year? (Makeup, fashion or both!)
Trends for this spring that I have really been into are gladiator sandals and bralettes. They are so cute.
7. Favorite spring candle?
I have really been loving County Market that I received for my birthday. It smells like berries and watermelon put together. I really like the how sweet it smells it does make my house smell like spring.
8. Favorite body spray/perfume for spring?
I have been using Carried Away and Beautiful Day by Bath & Body Works. I think these are part     of their regular collections so you can by them anytime of the year. I just particularly think they         smell springy.
9. What is spring like where you live?
I talked about this in my spring book tag. You can check that out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McRJcEpVN40
10. What's your favorite thing about spring?
Would it be bad of my to say my birthday day, I really like that I have a spring birthday. I also like watching the gray dull browns of winter fade to vibrant green. I think its so beautiful to watch everything come back to life.
11. Are you a spring cleaner?
Absolutely not. I not a cleaner anytime of the year. I do the bear minimum so that my rooms aren't dirty but I hate cleaning.
12. Any plans for spring break or an upcoming vacation?
Yes I had such a busy spring. I got to go to the beach and go to three dance competitions. I hope to have a few pictures up from my beach trip and so my travel essentials so be looking for that.

Book Review: The Lunar Chronicles: Scarlet

I recently read Scarlet by Marissa Meyer the second book in the Lunar Chronicles. This was a re-read for me. I think I enjoyed this book a second time more than the first. The reason I re-read this was because I got Winter the last in the series and needed a refresher since I read the first and second books over a year or more ago.
Please don't read below there are spoilers if you haven't already read the book!
I gave Scarlet 3.5 out of 5 stars on GoodReads.
This is the GoodReads Synopsis:
"Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.

Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn’t know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner."

First off I really liked this book and I liked that it was a fairy tale retailing. I think these are becoming more popular for the YA audience since we all know the classics.

Secondly, I liked the characters of Scarlet and Wolf but I found their story to be a little boring and not as good as Cinders. I will say that I did like this a whole lot better the second time through. I just couldn't relate to their story and I didn't really understand why Scarlet was so determined to save her grandmother when all her grandmother had done was lie to her. I know kinda of heartless of me but it put Scarlet in more danger than it was worth.

As you know from my previous review I like Cinder and her story line. In Scarlet Meyer add a new character to Cinders story, Carswell Throne. He a character I think he has a pretty boy attitude but overall I really like his character.

I did like how all the characters came together and meet up, it made for a pretty cool series of events. I think that was my favorite part of the whole book.

I do recommend that you give this book a read and the series, if you want to continue on with the characters. I'm on Cress now. There will be a book review for that soon.
