Book Review: Heir of Fire

I recently read Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Mass the third book in the Throne of Glass series. If you haven't read the first two books in the series. Go check them out and read those before reading this.... there are spoilers. My review for the Throne of Glass is linked here and my review for Crown of Midnight is linked here. This is probably going to be a long review since this book itself was so huge and so much happened.
I gave Heir of Fire 5 out of 5 stars on GoodReads.

Lets get in to the review. First off this book is broken in to two parts. Hair of Ash and Hair of Fire. I liked how this was split; it made complete since to do it that way since the character of Celaena goes through a huge change which I'll discuss below. We also read about three different story lines now, Celaena's, Chaol and Dorian, and Manon; a witch. I liked this. It gives you a lot of world building and more information about what all is going on in different places at once, which is really cool.

The first part Heir of Ash picks up right where the last book Crown of midnight left off; Celaena has made it across the Great Ocean to Wendlyn to assassinate the royal family. So as we know from the previous book Celaena has no intention of actually killing anyone and this is where Rowan comes in to the story. Can we just take a moment to appreciate Rowan; yyyyyyeeeeeeesssss gauwd we all need Rowan in our lives. He has become one of my favorite characters. He's a sexy, Fae, immortal. So once they meet, they go to Mistward to hone Celaena's Fea powers; we figured out in the last book that she was Fea and has some pretty cool powers. This takes the majority of the book; her learning to control her powers. Which don't get me wrong her powers are awesome I just wish it wouldn't have taken so long. The second part we actually get a pretty epic battle scene and finally get to meet Maeve one of the Fea queens. Since Celeana gets better control of her abilities we now understand why the book is split in to parts. We stay in Wendlyn for this whole book with her story line and we learn so other important things along the way. I won't spoil anymore for you, I'll let you go read the book or else you'd be here all day reading my review.

Second story line we follow is Chaol and Dorians. I wasn't too impressed with this it was kinda borning except for the parts about Dorian and him learning about his magic. I did not like that he was fell in love with his healer, Shorcha. At this point I was not happy with Chaols character either, he just made more problems than he was worth....like getting Celaena sent to Wendlyn, which at first might have seemed like a good thing but it's not. Plus the whole thing with Adaeon, another new character. Chaol and Adeaon in this book just kinda were boring till almost the very end, when they get caught by the King conspiring against him.

Third story line we get introduced to the Manon Blackbeak. First I love witches and these witches are awesome. She is the heir to the Blackbeak clan and she has a coven of thirteen witches. I wanna part of these of coven. So her story line is similar to the first book with Celeana; the King of Aldran is building an Arial army; so he gathers all the witches and gives them wyverns. Kind of like in the first book where Celaena was fighting to become the Kings champion, we have another contest to see which witch can become Wing Leader. Of course Manon become Wing Leader by the end of the book.

I really enjoyed this book because of the second half, I'm a sucker for good battle scenes. I would definitely recommenced this book. It really builds on the series.

Gossip Girl Planner Stickers: Serena van der Woodsen

Hi everyone,

Since I have been posting my planner inspiration and I have been using planner stickers, that I found for free. This got me into thinking that I could make my own stickers to share with you. Below is a PDF for you to download and use for your personal use. I hope you like these; they are spring inspired. I hope to have more every week. There are two options listed below as to how to print and use these stickers. I personally use option one and three now that I have a Cricut. Also, these are made in an Happy Planner type style.
